This workshop brings together specialists in first and second language phonetic training from Portugal, the UK, and the United States. A series of talks will provide an overview of research on how children and adults acquire sound systems, and how targeted training can support this process. Associate Professor Danielle Daidone (University of North Carolina Wilmington), a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, will open the workshop with a talk on high-variability phonetic training.
This event is hosted by Centro de Linguística da Universidade de Lisboa (CLUL), Phonetics and Phonology Lab / Baby Lab, and supported by Fundação Luso-Americana and Fulbright.
